National Science Foundation REU Grant, Visingsö, Sweden
July-August 2010 The National Science Foundation annually awards Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) grants on the national level. The grant enabled the procurement of Roman Iron Age pottery samples on loan from the Jönköping Läns Museum. Under the joint direction of Millsaps College and SUNY University at Buffalo, residue analysis of the pottery was completed in order to better understand the ritualistic use of this rough ware in both common and elite-status contexts. |
